Henderson South School: Moving to Alert Level 3

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Moving to Level 3

After yesterday’s news release from our prime minister our country officially will be moving to Level 3 on Monday 27th April (11:59) till Monday 11th May, whereby our government will re-assess the situation.

I hope this notice finds you well? This notice will give you an opportunity to learn how our school is moving to Alert Level 3 and how it will affect your families.  Since sending out this email/facebook message we have had a further update from the Ministry of Education and one message that was apparent was:

If you can stay at home then keep your children there.

Work and learn from home if you can. We still want the vast majority of people working from home, and children and young people learning from home. At-risk students and staff should also stay at home, and they will be supported to do so.

With this in mind I need your response as to whether you will be sending your child/ren to school when we reach Alert Level 3.

It would be quicker if you could respond via an email or text. If you can respond, please do so immediately.

It is vital that we know exactly how many children will be in school at this time as we have to plan what our situation will look like to align with the health and safety guidelines.

Please answer the question below then email or text your response;  email-[email protected]

Text your answer to 021532766

Please answer the following question:

  1. Will your child be returning to school on Wednesday 29th April?

Yes or No. Include your child/childrens names in your answer.

It will be expected that you will drop your child off at the gate on Garelja Road (parents should wait outside of the school gates on Garelja Road).  as the Coburg Street walkway will be closed.  Please use the Garelja Road entrance when collecting your child at the end of the school day (parents should wait outside of the school gates on Garelja Road). We want your child to be safe at school. We will not be accepting children at school after these start times. Parents that cannot collect children at the end of a school day will need to keep their child/ren at home.

We will stagger the start and finish times for students, to stop groups arriving together creating unwanted close physical contact.

Start for Juniors = 9:00 am Finish for Juniors =2:30 pm

Start for middle and seniors = 9:15 am Finish for middle and seniors = 2:45 pm

If your child is going to attend school your child must be collected by someone from their bubble. Hand sanitiser will be administered by a staff member for our students entering and exiting our school grounds.

Thank you for your continued understanding.

Trevor Diamond
