Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome back to another year of learning and progression. We are excited about this term as there is a lot going on especially at the end of the term.
We will be setting goals for literacy, numeracy and health. You will be able to join us to set these goals in week 7 (Thursday, March 26th). Life education caravan and West Wave trip week 8.
The topic for the term is Celebrations so please feel free to share your knowledge of celebrations in your culture or life, with us.
Every Second week a classroom newsletter will be sent home with the homework advising you of important dates and information about what we are learning.
Reading – A new book to be taken home to be read by your child. Or if your child takes home a journal one story per night. You or a relative may wish to read the book to them. If your child doesn’t have a book please write a note to notify us. A reading book log should be filled and signed regularly (kids get prizes for every 25 entries).
Math – Basic Facts and problem-solving questions will be given each week for children to complete. If they don’t have a question, they could learn their time’s tables starting with 2,5 and 10. After they master these, the other tables would be great (see your child’s teacher for more info).
Senior second Wednesday at 10.30am (next one’s on the 19th of February).
Whole School every week Friday at 10.30am.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at school for any issues you may have for your child.
Our school Vision is ‘Cultural, Creative, Critical Thinkers’. We will be referring to this daily to help children keep focused and understand the purpose of their learning.
Thank you from Mr Armstrong (Kowhai), Miss Tuilaepa (Rimu), Miss Rubick (Nikau) and Miss Dobson (Tipu’s Teacher Aide)
