Currently Henderson South School has a Bronze Certificate, which means the Travel Wise programme has made a start in our school.
The Henderson South School Travel Wise goal is to reach silver by the end of 2012. To reach this goal we must get the children of Henderson South and their parents to start thinking of sustainable and environmentally friendly ways of coming to school. This means we will be encouraging students to walk, bike or car pool to school.
This year already we have experienced some fun activities and shows to also help us gain knowledge and to educate our children. We have had assembly Presentations, henderson South School Wheels day, a visit from the Education Police Officer and a week dedicated to walking to school.
Things to look forward to:

Implementing and planning for students where they will look at making their journeys to school an active, social, safe and sustainable

Henderson South School Car Free day, where we will set up various meeting stations and have a fun, social and safe time walking to school.
